Project 52-12 and 52-13 (oops!)

Last week we expected to be moving to my in-laws. Last week I expected to have part 2 from Week 11 posted. Last week I DID NOT expect to spend 5 days in the hospital with my 5 week old. Last week I did not expect to take the above photo of our precious girl looking up at her daddy. Last week our plans changed.

But, last week we saw more of God's grace and protection over us. We saw Him giving us more time to pack up, to say goodbye. We saw Him working out little details we didn't know needed to be worked out.

Last week our plans changed. But, last week we learned again that His plan is not always our own, but it is good.

And, the Little Miss is doing GREAT now! So, all is well.  :)

And, here is Part 2 as promised.  I'm not going to write anything sentimental because I don't have time to be emotional today. Sorry, friends. The pictures from our crazy Core 4 will just have to do.

Project 52-11 Part One (To-be-continued next Friday)

We've got a good thing going.

Between our 4 families there are 8 kids, ages 2 and under... and the oldest is only 2 and 3 months! The older group is within 5 months of each other and the younger group is within 5 months of each other!

We get together at least once a week (usually more than that) to remain sane. Ironically enough, the kids are there, too.  :)

The Hubby and I are wrapping up life in Green Bay this week and next week. We are packing up the house, cancelling our Y membership and internet account, etc. We are leaving Green Bay after 10 years of living here! (Crazy!)

It's a good thing. It's a really good thing. We're moving out west to follow my husband's dreams and to use his passion to serve people and share with them what life can be like when they enter into a relationship with God. We're so so excited for this next phase in our lives. We knew Green Bay was our temporary home. We knew He'd call us elsewhere.

What I didn't know is what I would have to say goodbye to.

I didn't know I was going to find some women to do the last 4 years with. I didn't know I was going to have a son and that he would have 3 best friends this young. I didn't know that kids so young could crack each other up! I had no idea that we would be so blessed to have people to do life with, to sharpen me, challenge me, comfort me, teach me, and so much more.

I didn't know I needed them.

And, now I don't know how to leave them.

So, I remain in denial.

And I force myself to be hopeful. Hopeful that I'll find similar relationships where we're moving. Hopeful that they'll offer my spot in our Core 4 to someone else who has no idea how much she needs this. Hopeful because we'll live together again some day in Heaven and then our great relationships will be PERFECT. Hopeful that I can do long-distance friendships well for the time-being. Hopeful for the times we get to come back and visit (or Skype).  ;)  And, hopeful that they'll be able to come visit me.

I wanted to write them each individual letters... but sitting here crying my eyes out I'm not sure I can bring myself to do it.

I better get back to packing!

ps: This is a part one because it is not easy to photograph 4 mommas and 8 kiddos with a self-timer and a tripod.  My beautiful sister is going to come take photos of us next week and I'll share them next Friday!

iheartfaces - Beautiful B & W

She's a beauty.

Project 52-10

Little Miss on the left, Little Mister on the right. (2 year difference)

We had some friends over on Tuesday night (my birthday!) for dinner. The wife was my college roommate and the husband is one of my husband's best friends. They have 2 kids and she's pregnant again. We have 2 kids. One of the topics we covered that night was, "HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!"

We all still feel like "we were just in college" but in reality we graduated 5 years ago or more! We weren't just in college! We just had babies!

It's amazing how time flies.

Our son is getting so close to being ready to potty train. He's just not there yet. So, we had the opportunity to compare his and her diapers. I can't believe the size difference! When I got my first newborn diapers for the Little Miss, I was shocked at how small they were... and we still had to fold down the front because they were too big at first.

Well, she's been here for almost a month and since I'm with her every day I don't really notice the change, but I can tell it's almost time to switch to size 1's.

How does this happen?

I don't want to miss a minute. I want to remember it all. That's why I take photos... it's just too bad the photos won't smell like her sweet little head. Yum.  :)

Project 52-9

Since the recovery from a c-section is harder, my family has been making sure to take good care of me. My hubby was home the first week after the little miss showed up, then my mom stayed with me for a few days while Hubby went to work, and then he took this week off again.

As I've been feeling better, we've been venturing out. Thursday morning we went to the Y for Rainbow Rompers (its basically a glorified open gym - lots of fun things for the kids to play on including a bouncy house!) with some of our best friends. The little mister had the BEST time playing with his BFF's and his daddy. We even kept playing after RR was over. The other gym was open and the boys got to play basketball for a while.

So, it was a change to have the Hubby around all week. He heads back to work next week. Having him home all day was temporary... and wonderful.
